So yesterday I went in for what the Dr calls my “New OB” appointment. That seems weird since I’ve been to the Dr.’s office 5-6 times before then and already had an ultrasound. In any case I was 10 weeks 6 days yesterday and very excited to see and hear the baby again. Brian came with me to the appointment.
To my disappointment, no ultrasound. Really? What if I had a missed miscarriage? What if it was not growing appropriately? We did get to hear the heartbeat via doppler. The numbers were great! We could hear it much more clearly than at 7 weeks on the ultrasound.
So why no ultrasound? I’m not high risk. I’m 2 years too young to be high risk by age. I have no specific illnesses and have not experienced any spotting or unusual pain. In fact it took the Dr. no time at all to find the heartbeat via doppler.
So though, I don’t get to see the little parasite, I am happy that the Dr. feels all is good. First visit down, we’ll be back in 4 weeks.
