Since that double line showed up on the pregnancy test, Brian has been picking on me about having P-Brain. For those of you that know what that is.
Pregnancy brain is a condition that affects expectant mothers, usually during the first and third trimesters. I refuse to believe it. But today, I truly believe I have P-Brian. But my “P” is for Prankster! LOL
So before we were ready to announce to the world about our news, we thought really hard about how to tell folks. One day at lunch with a co-worker, he asked how things had been. I looked at him with a straight face and said, “well, Brian knocked someone up!” His reaction was priceless. I was pretty upset I had not thought of it earlier.
In talking with a few others at work, we identified some folks that did not know yet. So yesterday one of my employees started the day telling a guy, DP, that she had heard that Brian had knocked someone up but was not sure about it or did not want to talk to me. He was kinda disturbed by this news. Later that afternoon, he went and asked another co-worker, KW ( that knew of my plot and willing to go along). She proceeded to be very vague in her answers and mostly answered his questions with more questions. She never said anything direct or indirect. The seed was there and he ran with it. I figured I would let him know at the end of the day but he left before I could. ooops…..
So early the next morning KW stops by to say, I think we need to tell him, he is all tore up! Apparently he called her last night at home because he was so disturbed by the topic. She continued to lead him on. So we agreed to let him know. Then we started talking about this picture on Brian’s desk that has someone he calls his second wife in it. During all this someone else joins the conversation. JB thinks its so funny he is in tears! He wants us to continue the prank cause he knows DP can’t let it be. He will go see Brian so he will get to see the picture. So now we’ve all changed our minds again. Yes, we are just horrible.
After lunch I decided to just end it and was able to catch DP in his office! I figured I might get my 5 minutes of fun in and maybe shed a tear or two before I let him know. But something didn’t feel right. He seemed a little odd. So I just told him I was there to talk to him because I believe he has been bamboozled. That’s when I found out that KW had already caved and told him at lunch. Whew! Good thing I felt something was up and decided not to bring on the tears.
So in summary DW believed:
- Brian had knocked up some other lady
- Brian had also knocked up his wife which is why she was not immediately leaving him
- Brian and Kim could be swingers which is what got them into this situation
- The other women is a friend of Kim’s
DW was so disturbed by all this that he had gone home that night and prayed. He prayed for me, the babies and in his words, “even your cheating husband!” ROFL
So yes, Brian is right. I definitely have P-Brain!
