So today I had my second OB visit. Mostly uneventful. Everything went well. I forgot to leave a urine sample for the nurse though. I felt so bad. She calls me from the waiting room and asks if I had a chance to go to the bathroom. “No,” I respond. So she tells me to go ahead and that she would meet me by the scale. I proceed to take care of business and walk to the scale. I see the nurse standing in the lab waiting on my urine sample. Oooops….. In my defense, she didn’t specifically tell me to leave a sample. Fortunately, I was able to go again (no surprise) at the end of my appointment.
Once the Dr. arrived, we got to hear the heartbeat. Little parasite is proceeding right along. Dr. tells us that we will be doing the anatomy ultrasound at my next visit. So we should know the gender in 4 weeks! Dr. instructed us to start talking to baby and telling baby to start spreading it’s legs. If baby does not cooperate and spread its legs during the ultrasound, they can’t tell the gender.
So the most common phrase to parasite for the next 4 weeks will be “Spread your legs!!!” LOL
On a less fun note, we got the final dollar amount that we will owe the OB’s office. It’s actually due at 28 weeks instead of after delivery. It was a good thing we mentioned we are paying with an HSA account. It sounded like they will allow us to postpone payment until after delivery since HSA does not allow pre-payment for services not rendered yet. All in all, my portion of the amount due is quite reasonable. I guess my insurance is not so bad after all.
