Will you be an Eggplant baby?

After our visit to the Dr. on Tuesday, we decided that perhaps Beta should now be RC1 (Release Candidate). We were 35.5 weeks and were asked to sign the consent form for vaginal delivery. Sounds like a good time to make her a release candidate. 🙂

So now it really is just a waiting game to see when she’ll arrive. As we’ve gotten closer and closer to full-term (37 weeks) symptoms have definitely stepped up. I haven’t really increased my food intake too much, but the weight is just piling on!  Granted, I’ve taken up sweets, snickers in particular, but nothing too crazy. Meals and snacks are about the same. I guess little baby just needs to grow.

With her growth, ligaments are loosening. Ankles are swelling. Waddling has increased and walking speed has slowed down.  I’m waking up more frequently at night and each time it gets harder and harder to fall back asleep. The bed is no longer comfortable. I have found that the recliner or couch is actually better for me. First time I slept on the couch, my mom found me in the morning on her way to the kitchen to cook and asked what I had done to get kicked out of the bedroom. LOL

I feel very fortunate that the symptoms have only started in the last 2-3 weeks and only really bad in the last week or so. But I can totally relate to the folks that say at the end they are JUST READY. I’m just ready too!

So many folks have mentioned things to do or eat to induce labor, but the most common has been to eat eggplant parmigiana from Scalinis in Symrna, GA.   (http://www.scalinis.com/Bambino.htm).  We have lots of co-workers that live in Cobb County so its no surprise they have heard the legend, but this morning we went to get a new tag for the mini-van and the folks their were telling me about it too!

I’ve been joking about going there, especially to my boss.  Brian is a bit hesitant though. I get it. I’m nervous about the baby being here too. But I am really curious if the legend will hold true. LOL.

LOL. I don’t go out of my way to order or cook eggplant but have enjoyed it on several occasions. I’m sure Scalini’s Eggplant Parm is delicious! 🙂
